Scientific Research
Interactive Minds, being a spin-off company from Dresden University of Technology, always worked in close cooperation with universities and research institutions all around the world. Through this collaboration and strong relationships as well as conducting own research in the field of eye tracking Interactive Minds constantly gather deep insights into different areas of scientific applications which in turn greatly impacts the company's work. Interactive Minds is able to process and incorporate all the latest findings in its software design and development. With hundreds of installations of its products worldwide being part of scientific research, and many years of experience in providing custom solutions Interactive Minds has the knowledge to assist in all aspects of eye tracking.
With our Eye Tracking Analysis Suite NYAN it is easy to plan and conduct experiments as well as to analyze results. We attach great importance to a flexible experimental design, easy to use analysis tools and versatile ways to export data. Especially in scientific experiments it is important to gather highly precise eye tracking data as well as having the possibility to synchronize it with external sources. Therefore we offer solutions to incorporate your existing technical equipment like EEG or Skin Conductance Response devices. You can also design your experiments in E-Prime® 2 or Presentation® and use our Eye Tracking Extensions to communicate with the Eye Tracker.
The validity and tangibility of the measured and calculated data is of great importance to us. Therefore you get detailed information about used algorithms like the fixation detection. In addition you can export raw as well as aggregated data.
top ↑Usability
The innovative and above all objective method of Eye Tracking can be part of many different Usability Tests. Errors or weaknesses in graphical user interfaces are discovered easily and the user experience of your application will be boosted considerably.
We put a great deal of effort into developing easy to use and automatic analysis methods. You can do complex tasks in no time with the help of NYAN.
Due to the further advancement of Web 2.0 related technologies and dynamically superimposed contents like menus or layer advertisements the analysis of web sites gets tougher. Sometimes the results aren't even worth the efforts taken. To solve this problem we developed unique tools to analyze web pages. Dropdown menus, layer ads and dynamic elements like flash videos are detected and used for post-processing eye tracking data. The cumbersome segmentation of screen recording videos is not required anymore. As a matter of course embedded web pages (frames, i-frames) and scrolling aren't a problem as well.
The analysis of multiple participants is also no problem. NYAN automatically prepares visualizations like navigation diagrams which are ready-made for your presentation.
Usability Tip:
A method becoming more and more popular is the so called "retrospective think-aloud" in connection with eye tracking: The participants are confronted with their very own gaze behavior and can comment on it. This can lead to interesting and deep insights into their motivation while solving some task. With their gaze path at hand they remember more details than without it leading to even more precise results.

Especially when analyzing the efficiency of advertisements you can do versatile studies using our Eye Tracking Technology. With the Eye Tracking Data Analysis Suite NYAN 2.0XT you can present stimuli, record and analyze user behavior and answer questions like:
- What did the participants see? What did they not see?
- How many participants saw the target features?
- How is the distribution of visual attention?
- How was the overall user performance while solving specific tasks?
You can analyze advertisements, online newspapers and commercials. See what matters!
You can compare different target groups on static (images) as well as dynamic stimuli (videos)
Simulation
Recording and analysis of gaze behavior in virtual environments enables you to gain detailled insights into visual perception. You can examine real-time gaze tracks in virtual worlds, driving simulations and 3D-games while the subject interacts with its objects or analyze them afterwards.
Of great importance is the synchronicity of gaze data and virtual objects. With the help of our purpose-built interfaces connections between virtual objects and gaze data can be established in both spatial and temporal domains.
Our binocular eye trackers allow for separated access to the gaze positions of the left and the right eye. So you can learn about depth perception of subjects.
